Everton supporters have been urged to arrive at their seats at the Hill Dickinson Stadium 15 minutes early ahead of their Premier League meeting with Arsenal on Saturday 20 December.

According to Liverpool Echo, supporters group The 1878s are set to put on a first showcase in the Toffees' new stadium.

First Hill Dickinson Stadium display planned

As reported by Liverpool Echo, the Hill Dickinson Stadium will see its first supporter display prior to the festive fixture against league leaders Arsenal.

The group have requested all fans with seats in the South Stand, including those in the south east and south west sections, arrive 15 minutes early to play their part.

It was reported that the project will involve 15,000 cards being held up by fans to create an eye-catching welcome to the players emerging from the tunnel for Saturday's game ahead of the 8pm kick off.

Fans will arrive to a card on each seat, with the setup process set to take several days, before being asked to hold these aloft when the lights dim as the players enter the pitch, generating a captivating spectacle and atmosphere.

Ahead of the display, the 1878s’ Katie Carter said: “We can’t wait. We have been dying to get our hands on the new stadium.

“We know there will be added pressure to what we are doing because this is something the players, supporters and the manager want and now we have finally got something in place.

“That has only been possible through the fundraising from the fans and with the help of the club.”

History of influential The 1878s group

Saturday's display will not be The 1878's first involvement in the Everton stands, only their first since the summer move away from Goodison Park.

Indeed, the group led several memorable displays at the Toffees' old home to spur the side on over the years, including ‘Everton are Magic' and Littlewood Clock Banners, as well as the notable “We built this city” banner ahead of Goodison Park's final Merseyside Derby in February 2025.

FGG says: Hill Dickinson Stadium continues to grow in atmosphere

While many modern stadiums are seen as soulless out-of-town bowls, the Hill Dickinson Stadium has quickly been met with largely positive reviews, namely for the atmosphere not often associated with recent developments.

The 1878s were able to create captivating spectacles at Goodison Park, a particularly iconic arena, and should only bring more character to the steep-sided and loud new home of Everton.
