Crystal Palace have qualified for the Europa Conference League final, where they will come up against Spanish side Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig.

The match will take place at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, and it will be a momentous occasion for both clubs as neither have ever tasted European success before.

If you are a Crystal Palace fan who is planning on travelling over to Germany for the match, here are some options for getting to Leipzig in time for the match.

How to get to Leipzig: Travel options

Take the Crystal Palace chartered flight

Crystal Palace have announced that they are putting on chartered flights directly to Leipzig for the Europa Conference League final. There are four different packages to choose from, but none of them includes a match ticket.

  • Two-night premium package – £1,595 per person (based on a twin share room)
  • One-night flight only package – £625 per person
  • Two-night flight only package – £610 per person
  • Day trip – £749 per person

Fly direct to Leipzig

If you would rather sort your own travel out to Leipzig, then you are able to do so, but you won't save much money. There are currently direct flights to Leipzig available from London Gatwick and London City from Tuesday, 26 May to Thursday, 28 May, but the cheapest return flights are currently priced at £772.

Given that you can get a return flight on the same dates directly through the club for £610, there is little justification in going it alone.

Connect to Leipzig from elsewhere

One way to drag these flight prices down is to use connecting flights. At present, one of the cheapest options is to fly from London Heathrow to Vienna on Tuesday, 26 May and then have a night in the Austrian capital before flying to Leipzig in the morning. The return flight on the Thursday follows the same pattern.

Another option is to fly into another German city before boarding a train to Leipzig. The obvious route here is to fly to Berlin, as the German capital is less than 200km away. There are regular trains to Leipzig from Berlin, with an average journey time of 1hr 15minutes.

Crystal Palace fans fly out to Berlin from Stansted on Tuesday, 26 May and return to London Heathrow on Thursday, 28 May for £458.
