Wrexham’s £70m Kop Stand redevelopment continues to take shape, with fresh drone footage revealing the scale of the ambitious project at the Racecourse Ground.
The latest update shows further structural progress, although roofing work remains an area to watch as construction continues.
Wrexham continue to see rapid progress on the Kop Stand
Footage filmed by CC Overview on October 28th shows significant advances in the stand’s structural walls and ledges, with sections that were previously being prepared for concrete work now visibly more developed.
Exposed rebar remains in several areas, indicating that further shuttering and concrete work is still required.
Elsewhere, construction crews are installing additional steel framework, with a crane lifting large metal components into position as temporary orange supports help stabilise the structure.
Work is also progressing on the terracing, where gaskets are being installed ahead of further work, while the players’ tunnel is becoming increasingly defined.
However, the roofing remains an outstanding element. Although the main steel framework is largely complete, the final roof sections have yet to progress significantly, and it remains unclear whether the rear section will be fully covered.
The aerial perspective offers perhaps the clearest indication yet of the stand’s scale, with the developing structure already appearing considerably larger than the surrounding stadium.
The redevelopment is planned to include an expanded Kop with 7,750 seats, contributing to a potential Racecourse Ground capacity of around 18,000.
FGG says: The Kop Stand is becoming a landmark development
This latest footage underlines the sheer scale of Wrexham’s investment, with the emerging steelwork, terracing and tunnel helping supporters visualise what the completed stand could look like.
There is still plenty of work ahead, particularly on the concrete sections and roof, so the visible progress should not be mistaken for a project nearing completion.
Nevertheless, the Kop is becoming an increasingly prominent feature of the Racecourse Ground.
