Manchester City travel to the City Ground on November 7, 2026, to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

With the fixture taking place away from home, supporters will need to factor in the cost of tickets, transport, food and drink, as well as other matchday expenses.

As the official away allocation has already sold out, we have used the current resale price for a ticket in the away section to reflect what supporters may now have to pay.

For a Manchester-based fan travelling to Nottingham, we estimate the cost at around £263 by coach or £279.42 by train per person, based on the prices currently available to Football Ground Guide.

Ticket

Manchester City were allocated 3,006 tickets for their trip to the City Ground, but the official away allocation has sold out. Adult tickets were originally priced at £30, although supporters who missed out may now need to turn to resale platforms.

We have therefore used an advertised resale price of £187 for an away-section ticket in our calculations, giving a more realistic indication of what some fans may have to pay to attend the match.

Although some Citizens fans may be able to find cheaper alternatives.

Travel

Supporters travelling from Manchester can choose between coach and train services to Nottingham.

FlixBus tickets from Manchester Shudehill to Nottingham Broadmarsh were available for approximately £8 each way on the weekend of the game, making the estimated return coach cost £16. The journey takes around two hours and 45 minutes.

Travelling by train is another option, with an estimated return fare of £32.42. Prices can vary depending on the service and how far in advance tickets are booked, so supporters may be able to find cheaper options by planning ahead.

Food/drink

We have allocated £50 for food and drink during the day. This should provide a reasonable budget for a meal, refreshments and a few drinks, although individual spending is likely to vary.

Other expenses

A further £10 has been set aside for miscellaneous expenses, including getting to and from the departure point in Manchester and any small matchday purchases.

Nottingham Forest vs Man City: Estimated away day cost

Based on these figures, a Manchester City supporter travelling by coach could expect to spend around £263, while those opting for train could face a total of approximately £279.42.

However, supporters with an official matchday ticket could save almost £150 compared to our estimated total.
