Where to park near Emirates Stadium

Parking near Emirates Stadium – our complete guide

It’s been a great couple of years for Arsenal fans. Under Mikel Arteta, they have returned to fighting for major honours at the top of the table, and they now find themselves in the middle of one of the most exciting title races the Premier League has seen for many years.

What that means, of course, is that more and more supporters want to go and watch the team play. Going further in the cup competitions also means that more and more away supporters will be visiting the Emirates.

With so much buzz around the stadium nowadays, finding a parking spot is more competitive than ever. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a complete guide on where to park near Emirates Stadium.

How much is Emirates Stadium official parking?

Emirates Stadium official parking is only open to those enrolled onto Arsenal’s membership scheme. If you are a member, it’s worth checking if your membership entitles you to matchday parking – this will differ according to what type of membership you have.

If it does, then you are able to book parking online for the whole season or just one match, depending on your preference. For individual matches, these are the deadlines for booking a parking space.

  • Fixtures on Saturday, Sunday or Monday – 9am on the Thursday before the game
  • Fixtures on Tuesday – 9am on the Friday before the game
  • Fixtures on Wednesday – 9am on the Monday before the game
  • Fixtures on Thursday – 9am on the Tuesday before the game

Roads around the stadium will close two hours before kick-off – but don’t worry, anyone who has booked a parking space and has a valid hanger in their windscreen will be able to get to the stadium via Benwell Road and Queensland Road up until one hour before kick-off.

Please be aware that after the game the car park will be closed until 90 minutes after the final whistle.

Is there any on-street parking near Emirates Stadium?

Unfortunately, while you can park on the street relatively near the Emirates, it’s going to set you back a pretty penny.

Parking for non-residents during additional match day controls costs £12.50 an hour plus:

  • A fuel surcharge of £2 to £3.75 per hour for petrol vehicles depending on your emissions
  • A fuel surcharge of £6.50 per hour for diesel vehicles
  • A concessionary rate of £2 for electric vehicles.

For that reason, you’re much better off parking further away and walking or, if you really want to be close to the stadium, booking a spot at somewhere like Holocene Motor Group, who offer £30 parking spots on matchday.

Insider tips on Emirates Stadium parking

Thanks to Arsenal supporter Jonny Singer, we also have an insider tip on a couple of spots not too far from the stadium that you might be able to use.

Those are halfway down Liverpool Road – which is a 10-15 minute walk to the stadium – or on Dalmeny Avenue, which is a bit further at around 20 minutes’ walk, but sometimes a bit more empty.

Blue badge parking at Emirates Stadium

Arsenal offer 100 parking spots at Emirates Stadium for blue badge holders, which are free and open to any supporter with a valid match ticket and a current blue badge. Six of those spots are available for away supporters.

Spots are booked through Arsenal’s Disability Liaison Team, are reserved on a match-by-match basis and are usually able to be booked four weeks before each home game.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that blue badge is generally over-subscribed, the club are generally not able to offer spots to supporters suffering from temporary issues like a broken leg or recovery from surgery.

Is there any free parking near Emirates Stadium?

Being London, it is very tricky to find any on-street parking near Emirates Stadium which you don’t need a residents’ permit for. However, if you’re able and willing to walk 20-30 minutes, then there are a couple of spots where you might be able to grab a space.

Those are Barnsbury Park, N1 1HQ and St John’s Grove, N19 5RW, but be aware that these areas can fill up very early on a matchday.

Please also be considerate of residents if you do end up parking here.
