Where to park near Emirates Stadium – our complete guide

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have transformed themselves from a sleeping giant languishing in mid-table in the Premier League to a genuine force, challenging for the title in recent years.

While there has been a distinct lack of trophies during this period, the Gunners have enjoyed undeniable success off the pitch, fixing the once-broken relationship between fanbase and club.

That is, of course, a good thing; however, it has come with downsides. One such downside is an increase in demand for Arsenal tickets, and with it, an increase in demand for on-site parking spaces.

With so much buzz around the stadium nowadays, finding a parking spot is more competitive than ever. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a complete guide on where to park near Emirates Stadium.

How much is the Emirates Stadium official parking?

Despite its size, the Emirates Stadium doesn't have much to offer in terms of an official car park. It is located in the thick of a residential area, and it's difficult to shake the feeling that parking just wasn't on the agenda when the club decided on this area for the stadium.

While they do have parking areas, they are very limited and are only open to those enrolled in Arsenal’s membership scheme. If you are a member, it’s worth checking if your membership entitles you to matchday parking—this will differ according to your type of membership.

If it does, then you can book parking online for the whole season or just one match, depending on your preference. For individual matches, these are the deadlines for booking a parking space.

  • Fixtures on Saturday, Sunday or Monday – 9am on the Thursday before the game.
  • Fixtures on Tuesday – 9am on the Friday before the game.
  • Fixtures on Wednesday – 9am on the Monday before the game.
  • Fixtures on Thursday – 9am on the Tuesday before the game.

Roads around the stadium will close two hours before kick-off – but don’t worry, anyone who has booked a parking space and has a valid hangar in their windscreen can get to the stadium via Benwell Road and Queensland Road up until one hour before kick-off.

Please be aware that after the game, the car park will be closed until 90 minutes after the final whistle.

Is there any on-street parking near Emirates Stadium?

Unfortunately, while you can park on the street relatively near the Emirates, it will cost you a pretty penny.

Parking for non-residents during additional match day controls costs £12.50 an hour plus:

  • A fuel surcharge of £2 to £3.75 per hour for petrol vehicles, depending on your emissions
  • A fuel surcharge of £6.50 per hour for diesel vehicles
  • A concessionary rate of £2 for electric cars.

For that reason, you’re much better off parking further away and walking or, if you want to be close to the stadium, booking a spot at Holocene Motor Group, which offers £30 parking spots on matchday.

It could be an option to forget parking nearby to the stadium and instead take advantage of the local tube stations. The Emirates is located a short walk away from Finsbury Park station and Arsenal station, which can be found on the Piccadilly and Vitoria lines in London.

Therefore, why not drive to a station on these lines and then get the tube to the match? Areas such as Cockfosters (Piccadilly Line), Brixton (Victoria Line) and Stockwell (Victoria Line) are good options in this regard.

Insider tips on Emirates Stadium parking

Thanks to Arsenal supporter Jonny Singer, we also have an insider tip on a couple of spots not too far from the stadium that you can use.

Those are halfway down Liverpool Road—a 10-15-minute walk to the stadium—or on Dalmeny Avenue, which is a bit further at around 20 minutes’ walk but sometimes a bit emptier.

Blue badge parking at Emirates Stadium

Arsenal offer 100 parking spots at Emirates Stadium for blue badge holders. These spots are free and open to any supporter with a valid match ticket and a current blue badge. Six of those spots are available for away supporters.

Spots are booked through Arsenal’s Disability Liaison Team. They are reserved on a match-by-match basis and can usually be booked four weeks before each home game.

Unfortunately, because the blue badge is generally oversubscribed, the club is generally not able to offer spots to supporters suffering from temporary issues like a broken leg or recovery from surgery.

Is there any free parking near Emirates Stadium?

Snagging a free parking in London is like finding a needle in a haystack, it is very tricky to find on-street parking near Emirates Stadium, for which you don’t need a resident’s permit. However, if you’re able and willing to walk 20-30 minutes, there are a couple of spots where you might be able to grab a space.

Those are Barnsbury Park, N1 1HQ, and St John’s Grove, N19 5RW. However, be aware that these areas can fill up very early on a matchday.

Please also be considerate of residents if you do end up parking here.

Another thing worth noting is that some residential parking schemes in the local area are only in place Monday-Saturday, which means that on Sundays, you could be able to park down typical permit-only spots. However, please ensure your read all parking signs properly to avoid any fines or clamping.
