Premier League 2026/27 shirt price hike: Cheapest to most expensive ranked – one club charges £90

The return of the Premier League also marks the launch of a new wave of home, away and third kits, with supporters once again eager to wear their club's latest colours.

But for many fans, buying a new shirt has become an increasingly expensive tradition.

Prices have continued to climb ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with several clubs increasing the cost of their replica jerseys and ten teams now charging £80 or more.

Tottenham Hotspur have gone one step further by becoming the first Premier League club to charge £90 for an adult replica shirt, while Chelsea are only a mere penny behind.

Tottenham and Chelsea lead another round of price rises

Spurs now boast the Premier League's most expensive replica shirt after increasing the price of an adult jersey by £5 to £90. Chelsea have also added £5 to their price, with supporters paying £89.99 for the latest Blues shirt.

Elsewhere, Coventry City have introduced the biggest increase of any club, with their shirt rising by £10 to £70 following promotion to the top flight. Ipswich Town have added £6, while Leeds United, Bournemouth and Hull City have each raised prices by around £5.

Only Brentford have resisted the annual cycle by continuing with their two-year kit policy. The Bees remain the only Premier League club not to release a new home shirt every season, helping supporters avoid the yearly expense faced by fans elsewhere.

At the opposite end of the table, top-flight newcomers Hull City offer the cheapest shirt in the division at £64, narrowly undercutting Brentford, Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town, who each charge £65.

With half the division now charging £80 or more for an adult replica shirt, the cost of following a club continues to rise well beyond the price of a match ticket.

For families, the expense is even greater. Purchasing shirts for multiple children, alongside personalised printing and Premier League sleeve badges, can quickly push the total well beyond £100 per shirt.

It's little surprise, then, that counterfeit football shirts have become increasingly common.

While buying unofficial kits carries legal and ethical concerns, the widening gap between production costs and retail prices is encouraging many supporters to seek cheaper alternatives.

Clubs argue that replica kit sales generate valuable commercial revenue and help fund investment on and off the pitch.

However, with shirt prices reaching record levels and continuing to climb almost every summer, there is a growing debate over whether loyal supporters are being asked to shoulder too much of the financial burden.

As the 2026/27 campaign gets underway, fans will once again decide whether owning the latest shirt is worth the premium, or whether this season's colours are best admired from the stands rather than bought from the club shop.
