PSV have agreed a new deal with Lighting company Signify to become the club's official lighting innovation partner.

The six-year contract will run until at least 2032, at which point PSV are hoping to have completed the expansion of their Philips Stadion home, with Signify set to contribute heavily to the development of the stadium.

Signify and PSV are exploring how lighting innovation could help improve several factors across the club, including providing optimal conditions for athletic performance, greater comfort and well-being and an enhanced experience of matches and events.

PSV moving ahead with Philips Stadion expansion

PSV revealed in October 2026 that the club had already invested £2.9m towards consulting fees in its ongoing effort to expand the Philips Stadion, which has been the club's home ground since 1916.

That marked another step forward in the effort to develop the stadium, with it previously being announced in July that the club had entered into a long-term partnership with construction company BMV.

The renovation of the stadium, of which new images were released in early October, is proposed to take place between 2027 and 2030, although the club are currently in the process of gaining permit issuance and securing the financing.

The project, which is anticipated to cost in the region of £330m, could see the Philips Stadion become the largest in the Netherlands, increasing the current capacity of just over 35,000 to between 52,000 and 58,500.

PSV have yet to fully commit to a definitive capacity for the stadium expansion, with the decision set to depend on the choice of roof construction and the ratio of regular seats to business areas.

However, the club have already lodged a permit with the Municipality of Eindhoven to expand the stadium by a maximum capacity of 25,000, and securing the new deal with Signify, who are set to contribute heavily to the project, will go a long way in helping PSV finalise the project.

FGG Says: Another positive step

After first announcing detailed plans of the major redevelopment and expansion of the Philips Stadion in March, several updates have already been issued, and the latest news of the new deal with Signify is another positive step towards completing the project.
