Phil Foden has enjoyed a stellar career at Manchester City, winning six Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups and one Champions League.
Considering he still had won all of that by his 25th birthday, there is every chance that he adds more medals to his trophy cabinet before he is done at the Etihad Stadium.
Becoming a first-team regular from the academy at Manchester City is no easy task in itself, particularly in an era where the club have spent hundreds of millions of pounds on attacking talent.
His status as a local lad, on top of his wonderful ability, has made him a fan favourite among City fans. Does he have his own Man City chant, though? Let's find out.
Phil Foden chant, lyrics and tune
The general consensus among City fans is that there isn't a dedicated Phil Foden chant, although there are some videos out there of City fans occasionally singing general football chants with Foden's name added after the playmaker has scored a goal. The lyrics to one of the most popular chants are:
He's one of our own,
He's one of our own,
Phil Foden,
He's one of our own

For a local lad who has become one of the club's best players, the fact that Foden doesn't have a better chant than this is surprising, to say the least.
What makes the situation even more unusual is the fact that England fans have their own Phil Foden chant, which became one of the most popular football chants on the planet during Euro 2024. This chant is sung to the tune of ‘Dancing in the Dark' by Bruce Springsteen, and the lyrics are as follows:
Can't start a fire,
Can't start a fire without a spark,
Phil Foden's on fire,
He'll be playing the Germans off the park
While copying football chants is frowned upon, exceptions can and should be made in instances like this. Why Man City fans haven't taken this chant and just changed the word ‘Germans' to something club-related like ‘United' or ‘Scousers' is anyone's guess.

FGG says: Bring the Boss to the Etihad
It's time for Manchester City fans to either use the Bring Springsteen-inspired Foden chant at the Etihad Stadium or create something better than the one they currently sing. The ‘he's one of our own' chant has been done to death, and Foden deserves better.
