Ursapharm-Arena is a charming ground that has undergone significant redevelopment over the years as Elversberg have climbed the divisions of the German football pyramid.

Fans can build a strong atmosphere on matchdays, bolstered by large flags and tifos, but opposition fans will generally be treated by a welcoming crowd.

One relatively novel aspect to this ground is that it features a patented system for its VIP section in the west stand, from where visitors can order food directly to their specific seat.

As of mid-July, the new north stand’s concrete foundation slab was being poured, and visible signs of progress will be encouraging for fans, who were concerned after temperatures of 40 degrees celsius delayed the works.

Elversberg insist that the project remains on-schedule.

Ursapharm-Arena to undergo major expansion in 2026-27

Elversberg have been promoted to the Bundesliga for the very first time, meaning that their home stadium of Ursapharm-Arena will need to be expanded significantly in order to meet the division’s requirements.

The DFL’s minimum stadium capacity for top-flight clubs is 15,000, necessitating extensive work on the venue, which can currently host up to 10,000 supporters on matchdays.

In order to facilitate Elversberg’s construction plans, the DFL have awarded them a temporary exemption to the capacity requirements, which will end in the spring of 2027 – when the club hope to have the majority of their expansion completed.

The key part of this project is the building of a new north stand, which is set to feature around 1,500 seats for away fans, as part of a capacity rise to approximately 15,500 overall.

Ursapharm-Arena will also gain a new premium level of hospitality in what it calls ‘Field Lounges’, spaces that offer great views of the match while also including a catering service.

By Car

Perhaps the easiest way to get to Ursapharm-Arena is directly by car, considering that Spiesen-Elversberg is a municipality with limited quick public transport links.

Follow the A8 and exit at Elversberg/Spiesen, or take the A623 towards Neunkirchen. From there, signs should lead the way to the ground.

Parking:

There are a small number of parking spaces just outside the stadium, but keep in mind that these fill up quickly on matchdays. Alternative parking can be found at Spiesener Strasse, and costs roughly €5.

By Bus

There is a special bus service on game days for fans heading to Ursapharm-Arena. Otherwise, take the B6 bus from Saarbrucken or Neunkirchen and get off at Elversberg Kaiserlinde.

By Train

The lack of a train station in close proximity to the stadium makes travelling by rail difficult to recommend, but if you must, then get off at either the Neunkirchen (Saar) or Saarbrucken Hbf stations and take a bus or taxi the rest of the way.

• Wheelchair spaces are in the main grandstand, adjacent to barrier-free accessible toilets
• Wheelchair users enter the stadium via gate D7 in the main grandstand
