While football stadiums have historically been seen as a central hub for a community, the evolution of football has meant that many of them are now also tourist attractions.
Stadiums such as Old Trafford, San Siro, the Santiago Bernabeu, and the Allianz Arena are visited by millions of tourists and fans on non-matchdays throughout the year, which has increased the demand for hotels in the local area.
Some clubs have gone one step further and built hotels on the site of the stadium itself, offering a fans a unique experience where they can enjoy an overnight stay at their clubs' stadium.
Our guide below runs through all the stadiums across Europe that either have stadiums inside or overlooking them.
Football Grounds with hotels: UK
MK Dons – DoubleTree by Hilton
The DoubeTree by Hilton is built inside Stadium MK. Several rooms offer fans a view of the pitch meaning it's possible to watch the match from the comfort of your hotel bed.
Bolton Wanderers – Bolton Stadium Hotel
Bolton Wanderers also have a hotel built inside their stadium (The Toughsheet Community Stadium). The Bolton Stadium Hotel has 19 en-suite rooms that provide views of the pitch. Prices for these rooms start at £210 for the night.
Coventry City – DoubleTree by Hilton
DoubleTree by Hilton also have a hotel built inside the Coventry Building Society Arena. While this hotel also offers pitch view rooms, they must be vacant between 9am-7pm on matchdays.

Manchester United – Hotel Football
Hotel Football is situated a stone's throw away from Old Trafford but incredibly, it isn't owned by Manchester United. The stadium is owned by the Class of 92 and was first opened in 2015. It doesn't offer views of the pitch, but it does provide guests with a brilliant view of Old Trafford.
Reading – Voco Reading
Voco Reading is similar to Hotel Football in that it isn't built within the stadium but across the road. The hotel is more than just a place to stay if you're attending a match at the Select Car Leasing Stadium; it boasts a swimming pool, sauna, and fitness centre.
Chelsea – Millennium & Copthorne Hotels
Chelsea have two hotels built on the site of Stamford Bridge – the Millenium and Copthorne Hotels. As you might expect given the area, both hotels have a four-star ranking.
