Lyon vs Man Utd tickets: Buying guide

Home tickets

At the time of writing, Lyon still have tickets on sale for the match against Man Utd via their official website. Due to security risks, the club aren't just allowing anybody to buy tickets, though, with a previously purchased membership required to get through the ticket portal and select tickets.

There are varying degrees of membership at Lyon but the following members are all eligible to purchase tickets, which start from as little as €20, via the club website:

  • 24/25 Subscribers
  • CSE Clubs
  • Lyon 1950 Subscribers
  • Kop Virage Nord Bas Subscribers
  • Kopa Virage Nord Inter Subscribers
  • Europa League buyers
  • Myol from Hope Status

It's unlikely that the match will ever go to general sale, due to both demand and security fears, but for any Man Utd fans who do manage to get tickets in the home sections, Lyon have offered the following warning:

“For safety reasons, wearing opposing team merchandise is prohibited in the stands and various stadium lounges. We urge you to respect this rule responsibly.”

Away tickets

Man Utd have been given an allocation of 2,846 tickets for the match at the Groupama Stadium and all of these are now sold out. To be eligible for a ticket for this match, you had to be a Manchester United season ticket holder or official member with five European credits. This means you will have attended five or more European away matches over the past three seasons.

Due to the short turnaround between the application process and the match taking place, the club have elected to refuse all returns from Man Utd ticket holders. Therefore, there is a chance that there could be some empty seats in the Man Utd away end on Thursday night.

Hospitality

Lyon are still offering Hospitality packages for the match against Man Utd, which is a great option for fans who want to enjoy the match in style.

The current hospitality options on offer and their prices are as follows:

  • Brasserie des Lumieres – €310
  • The Corner – €265
  • OL Circle – €372

These packages are available to all supporters regardless of membership and for more information on what each on entails, check out the official Lyon ticketing site.

In recent years, third-party ticket resale sites have become very popular among football fans as they provide those without season tickets and membership a viable way to buy one-off match tickets.

The issue with these sites is that all of them often result in the buyer paying a heavily inflated price, and some of them are just straight-up scams. We recently reviewed two of the biggest resale websites to give FGG readers peace of mind when purchasing tickets:
