Mick van de Ven has been a fan favourite at Tottenham from the minute he walked through the doors in the summer of 2023.

The rapid centre-back became an essential part of Ange Postecoglou's squad at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and he remains a key player under Thomas Frank.

It didn't take long for the Tottenhma faithful to create a Micky van de Van chant, and if you are want to discover the lyrics, tune and story behind the chant, then our guide below has you covered.

Micky van de Ven chant lyrics and tune

The Micky Van de Ven chant isn't going to win any awards for originality or lyrical genius, but it is a good chant nonetheless. The chant is sung to the tune of ‘Give it Up' by KC and The Sunshine Band, and the lyrics are as follows:

Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na-na-na,

Micky van de Ven, Van de Ven,

Micky van de Ven,

Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na-na-na

As touched upon above, this tune has been used by sports fans in the United Kingdom for decades now, and it's clear to see why, as it does lend itself to a football chant perfectly.

Manchester United used the chant for Nicky Butt in the 1990s and several other fans have followed suit. The reason why the Micky van de Ven chants perhaps makes more sense than most is that the chant is also linked with Vincent van de Voort, a Dutch darts player who walks out to the song.

FGG says: An inevitable chant

The name Micky vƒan de Ven lends itself perfectly to this tune, so it would have been almost disappointing had Spurs fans not used it for the Dutchman. The fact that his darting compatriot Vincent van de Voort uses the song as his walk-on music only makes the connection between the song and the player even stronger.
