Diogo Dalot has been a Manchester United player since 2018, and although many match-going fans are perplexed at how long he has managed to stick around, there must be a reason why every manager who comes through the doors at Old Trafford takes a shine to him.
Dalot's limitations are there for all to see, but one thing you cannot take away from him is his passion for the game. Often the first player to congratulate others, and to try and get the crowd up, the Portuguese full-back has done enough to earn himself a Man Utd chant, of sorts.
For more information on the chant, including the lyrics and tune, we have you covered below.
Diogo Dalot chant, lyrics and tune
The Diogo Dalot chant is sung to the tune of ‘Can't Take My Eyes Off You' by Frankie Valli. The lyrics are as follows:
Diogo Dalot,
You are the love of my life,
Diogo Dalot,
I'd let you sh*g my wife,
Diogo Dalot,
Can I be Portuguese too?
Diogo Dalot chant background
The Diogo Dalot chant is yet to make it into the stands at Old Trafford or into Man Utd away ends, but it has been heard in some of the pubs in the vicinity of the stadium.
This isn't the first time that this particular tune has been used by Man Utd supporters, either. Back in the late 2000s, it was the song of choice for Owen Hargreaves. The lyrics of that version were largely the same, except the final line was ‘I want curly hair too'.
Although Dalot has played for the club far longer than Hargreaves did, it's difficult to say at this point that Dalot is more loved by Man Utd fans, despite the fact that Hargreaves went on to play for Manchester City for a brief period.

FGG says: A chant that is unlikely to ever make it to Old Trafford
This feels like a football chant that will remain confined to pubs, as matchgoing Manchester United fans, generally speaking, are not overly fond of Dalot. However, things can change quickly in football, so it isn't a complete write-off just yet.
