Away fans’ guide to Istanbul: Key information for Liverpool fans

Liverpool qualified for the Champions League's round of 16 automatically after finishing third in the league phase at the end of January, and UEFA have now drawn the Premier League champions to face Turkish giants Galatasaray in the knockout stages.

The first leg of this tie will take place at Cimbom's RAMS Park in Istanbul on Tuesday, March 10, before the return fixture at Anfield eight days later on Wednesday, March 18. Gala's home ground may be familiar to some fans given that the Reds were beaten 1-0 there in the league phase on September 30.

Arne Slot's Merseysiders have missed out on the chance to retain their Premier League title this season, and they will be desperate to get their hands on the Champions League for a seventh time to transform what has been a difficult campaign into a successful, memorable one.

How many Liverpool fans are going to RAMS Park

Gala's home ground boasts a capacity of 53,978, and considering that Liverpool have been allocated just 2,502 tickets for away fans, the travelling Reds will need to be at their loudest to be heard.

Liverpool season ticket holders and fans that have attended at least six of the Merseysiders' Champions League games in 2024-25 or 2025-26 are guaranteed a chance to buy a ticket, as part of a first round of sales opening at 8:15am on March 3 and closing at 7:30am on March 4. Tickets are priced at £38.78, and the allocation is expected to sell out within the first couple of rounds.

That being said, given that the Reds are one of the biggest clubs in world football, there are likely to be a large number of fans in Istanbul on matchday even without tickets to the game.

Where will Liverpool fans sit in RAMS Park?

The away section at RAMS Park is in blocks A and B of the South Stand, and Liverpool fans are set to enter using gates 418, 419, 420 and 421.

Liverpool supporters may consider heading to the ground earlier than usual to avoid any delays at the turnstiles or issues with local authorities and opposition supporters.
