How to buy Newcastle United tickets: Prices, membership, essential guide to Premier League tickets 2025/26

St James' Park has always been one of the standout stadiums in the Premier League, but things have been taken up a notch in recent seasons thanks to Newcastle United's return to prominence following the Saudi Arabian acquisition of the club.

The Magpies' dramatic improvement on the pitch since the takeover has seen St James' Park once again become a fortress, leading to the club hosting some of the best teams in the world during their Champions League campaigns, and, as a result, Newcastle United tickets are becoming increasingly hard to come by.

Whether you are looking for Premier League tickets or domestic cup tickets to watch Eddie Howe's team in action, we have you covered.

Below is a fan-led, regularly updated and all-encompassing guide on how to purchase all types of Newcastle United tickets, from single matchday tickets to hospitality packages and everything in between.

Newcastle United matchday tickets and single-match tickets: Pricing, availability

You must buy matchday tickets individually for each game if you don't hold a season ticket. At Newcastle, securing single-match tickets can be challenging, as most matches undergo a ballot system to distribute tickets. To qualify for the ballot, you must be a club member, with just a limited number of games available for general sale.

You will be allowed to purchase home tickets if you succeed in the ballot. Ticket prices differ based on the category of the game and the location in the stadium where you want to sit. For Category A fixtures – those against the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City – adult tickets range from £32-70 while junior tickets range from £17-38.

The ticket prices for Newcastle United for the 2024/25 season were as follows. Please note that a 5% markup is expected on these prices for the 2025/26 campaign.

Category A matches:

  • Adults – £32-70
  • Over 65s – £26-58
  • Young adults – £17-38

  • Adults: £24-£55
  • Over 65s: £20-£44
  • Young Adults: £14-£28
  • Juniors: £14-£28

Do I need a membership to buy Newcastle United tickets?

It's not necessary to be a member to buy Newcastle United tickets, as some matches each season will inevitably go on general sale. However, having a membership will certainly boost your chances of getting tickets, particularly for Premier League and European matches.

The ticket sales process for each home game follows the same pattern – members are invited to enter a ballot for tickets, and those who are successful are then allowed to purchase tickets.

If any tickets remain after the ballot, members are given another opportunity to purchase tickets, this time directly via the online Newcastle ticketing platform, where any remaining tickets will be listed. It is only after this stage that non-members are able to purchase tickets, but it is very rare that it ever gets to this point for league fixtures.

In essence, if you don't have a membership, you will be limited to Carabao Cup and FA Cup fixtures against lower-league opposition.

How to get a Newcastle United membership?

You can buy Newcastle United memberships through the club's official website. In the past, only one type of membership was available for adult fans, but for the 24/25 season, the club introduced changes.

The club have decided to stick with the same membership model for the 2025/26 season, meaning fans have the following three options available to them.

  • Mags+: £47
  • Mags: £37
  • Junior Mags: £20

For more information on what each membership type offers you, visit the membership section on the Newcastle website.

Newcastle United Mags+ benefits

For an extra £10, Newcastle fans can now get a new Mags+ membership. This comes with all the benefits from The Mags, alongside the following new perks.

  • Five retail discounts during a season (compared to 3 for The Mags) have been roughly 10% off a purchase in the club shop. The most recent was at the launch of the new club shop.
  • First access to new retail ranges. We saw this with the Adidas collaboration.
  • Priority purchase option for events at SJP.
  • Free access to pre-season friendlies (these were the Sela Cup matches).
  • Exclusive in-person events.
  • Exclusive prize draws like meeting players or cup final box tickets.
  • Access to member-only match competition.

It's not a bad selection for local people who buy products from the club.

Newcastle United Women's tickets

Newcastle United Women do not play all their matches at SJP; however, they tend to play a select number of fixtures at the stadium per season.

On 17 November, the club faced Southampton Women at SJP, and tickets were priced very fairly. Adult tickets were priced at £8, with concession tickets at £2. Premium seating was also available, at £40 for adults and £30 for children. These tickets included box seating, sandwiches, snacks, drinks, and a match programme.

Regular Newcastle Women's fixtures are hosted at Kingston Park Stadium. The stadium is owned by the Newcastle Falcons Rugby Union side, and used by both Newcastle Women, Newcastle Falcons, and Rugby League side Newcastle Thunder.

There are 15 hospitality areas scattered around the stadium, each offering a unique experience to ticket holders. The executive boxes are the most prestigious hospitality package at St James' Park, while Shearer's Bar is at the other end of the scale.

Of the locations purchasable via the club website, The Entertainers is the most exclusive. Offering up a three-course meal and often costing over £600 per person. The complete list of hospitality areas is as follows:

  • Executive boxes
  • The Rooftops
  • Wings
  • The Barracks
  • The Entertainers
  • Club St.James'
  • Joe Harvey Suite
  • Sir Bobby Robson Suite
  • Heroes Club
  • Moncur Suite
  • Four Corners
  • Magpie Club
  • The Barracks
  • Park Grill
  • Shearer's

The hospitality section on the official Newcastle United website provides full details on what each package entails.

Newcastle United tickets FAQs

How to get to St James' Park at Newcastle United

Getting to St James' Park is far easier on public transport than driving. The stadium is situated in the middle of Newcastle city centre, so it can be a pain to get to if driving due to a combination of match and city centre traffic.

If you are travelling by car, head down the A1 North before converging onto the A184 towards Newcastle. Once you are in Newcastle city centre, you can see the stadium, at which point you start looking for a car park. There are plenty, but they do fill up quickly, so arrive early.

Taking the train is far easier to get to St James' Park. Newcastle Central Railway Station is just half a mile away from the stadium and is accessible directly from most major railway stations in the United Kingdom.

How can I get Newcastle United away tickets?

To get a Newcastle United away ticket, you must be a season ticket holder at St James' Park. Tickets for away matches are released in stages, with season ticket holders with the most loyalty points being offered first. The number is continuously reduced until all tickets are sold out. Season ticket holders obtain loyalty points by attending away matches.

How can I get cheap Newcastle United tickets?

The best way to get cheap Newcastle United tickets is to attend low-category games. Matches against Luton Town and Bournemouth have cheaper ticket prices than matches against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Another way to get cheap tickets is to purchase tickets high above each goal. The most expensive seats are low down, close to the halfway line, so avoid these areas if you are looking for a bargain.

How can I do a stadium tour of St James' Park?

Stadium tours of St James' Park can be booked via the club's official website. Supporters can choose from different types of tours, from classic tours, where attendees can walk through the tunnel at St James' Park and visit the dressing rooms, to rooftop tours, where guests get a birds-eye view of the hallowed turf and the Newcastle skyline from the stadium's roof.

How to watch Newcastle United at home

If you can't get tickets for Newcastle United fixtures, all is not lost. Premier League matches are broadcast live throughout the season on Sky Sports and TNT Sports in the United Kingdom. As one of the biggest teams in the division, Newcastle features heavily, so you will rarely miss a game, provided you have a subscription to both services.

What is Newcastle's hospitality gift voucher?

If you love Newcastle, the hospitality gift voucher is for you. The eGift vouchers give fans a rare opportunity to spend less and still get the same VIP experiences as those who book directly on the club's official website.  Newcastle hospitality gift vouchers start from £50, meaning fans can choose whichever hospitality package they need.

You can purchase hospitality gift vouchers online or by dialling 0191 201 8444, the ticketing customer care line. You can personalise your gift voucher, and once the order is complete, it will be instantly emailed to you.

The best option for fans abroad?

As you can see from the above info, Newcastle is not an easy team to get tickets for. However, one way is via the hospitality section. These tickets are often still sold out for games against the big sides. However, for the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, and matches against “smaller” sides, it can be a good option.

Fans from abroad should also consider using third-party ticket resale websites. While these sites can be risky from a security perspective, there are some out there that offer guarantees on tickets. We recently reviewed two of the most reputable websites and discovered just how legitimate they are:

Although both of these websites guarantee user safety, you are still going to have to pay over the odds for tickets, in addition to administration fees. However, if you are an overseas fan and are just coming over for a single game, then it's probably worth doing.

FGG says: Newcastle tickets are hard to get

With new ownership and a surging influx of interest in tickets, Newcastle United are one of the hardest clubs to get tickets for. While the ballot system via the membership programme gives you a small chance of getting tickets, it's still just a lottery.

For fans who want to travel to Newcastle to watch from abroad, you are left with only hospitality tickets as your real option, which isn't awful, as you can make it work as a one-off experience.

With news of either an expansion of St James' Park or a new stadium coming in 2025, the future of ticket availability looks to be positive.
