Which Championship team has the most season ticket holders? The top five

Sunderland – 35,000

The Stadium of Light is the biggest stadium in the Championship with a capacity of more than 48,000. Out of those 48,000 seats, around 37,000 are made available as season tickets. Sunderland have always had brilliant support, regardless of what division they've been in, and more than 35,000 of these season tickets have been sold for the 2024/25 season.

The club have left the remaining season tickets on sale and if they can continue their early-season good form then the remaining season tickets could be snapped up in no time.

Leeds – 27,000

Leeds are second on the list but if their stadium was bigger, then they would almost certainly be on top. Elland Road has a current capacity of 37,890 and around 27,000 of these seats are held back for season ticket holders.

Leeds have no issue selling these season tickets year in, and year out and currently have a waiting list in excess of 20,000. There are talks of a major stadium expansion in the coming years which would allow several people on the waiting list to get their hands on a season ticket.

Middlesbrough – 21,000

Middlesbrough are another club in the north-east that are famed for having passionate supporters. Their current stadium, The Riverside, currently has a capacity of 33,746 and they have sold around 21,000 season tickets for the 2024/25 season.

Michael Carrick has brought renewed hope to the club since taking over as manager and there is a feeling that this could be a very special one for those lucky enough to have a season ticket at the club.

Coventry City –  20,000+

Coventry City were proud to announce earlier in the summer that they had broken their season ticket record by surpassing 20,000 sales. Although there hasn't been an update since with a final figure, it's good to see the continued resurgence of the club after a bleak decade.

Before this summer, the previous record for season ticket sales at Coventry was 19, 425. Club officials have labelled the sales figures as an ‘amazing achievement'.

Norwich City – 20,000+

Norwich City announced last summer that they had secured more than 20,000 season ticket sales and they have repeated the feat this year. Interestingly, Carrow Road only has a capacity of 27,244 so when you take away season ticket sales and away allocations, there isn't much left for members and the general public.

Norwich have been a yo-yo club for some time now and after two consecutive years in the Championship, they are due another promotion campaign.
