Leeds United will be looking for their first win in four Premier League games on Sunday, when they travel to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Daniel Farke's Whites came from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend, and the fans making the trip to Wearside will be cautiously optimistic up against the division's bottom club.

Supporters will also be excited about the day out at a ground where the Peacocks have not been beaten since December 2023, not to mention the plethora of worthwhile things to do near the Stadium of Light.

Read on as Football Ground Guide breaks down the surprisingly reasonable cost for one Leeds fan's away day in Sunderland.

Sunderland vs. Leeds away day cost breakdown

Ticket prices for away fans are capped at £30 in the Premier League, an initiative that was renewed for another two years when top-flight clubs voted to unanimously extend the pricing earlier this year. The extra £1.50 for Leeds fan attending Sunday's game is a booking fee.

Leeds often offer an official coach travel service for their away games, and considering that a number of direct train lines are facing disruption this weekend, travelling by bus seems a reasonable option.

An adult return ticket for the official coach – which leaves at 1pm from the East Stand – cost £36.50, while concessions paid £26.50 for their spot. An independent coach service would set you back in the region of £50-60 for a return on Sunday.

Fans will also be budgeting around £25 for food and drink during their day out, enough to cover a couple of pre-match pints in one of the best pubs near the Stadium of Light, as well as a bite to eat there or from a takeaway spot, and another drink at the ground itself.

Thankfully, finding somewhere to stay near the Stadium of Light is not a necessity for this fixture, meaning that the trip is around £50 cheaper than it could have been.

Factoring in another fiver or so for a programme or an extra snack, and the total cost for one Leeds fan's away day to Sunderland weighs in at £98 overall, a reasonable figure for what is sure to be a memorable occasion.
