Stade Marie-Marvingt

Stade Marie-Marvingt is a modern and spacious stadium in Le Mans, close to the famous Circuit de la Sarthe and Antares.

It opened in 2011 and has become an increasingly lively venue as Le Mans FC have climbed back up the French football pyramid.

Visiting supporters have a dedicated section accessed via Entrance F, with the dedicated visiting parking area P19 on matchdays.

Fans should also take time to experience Le Mans itself. The city is famous for its rillettes, while its historic old town, known as the Cite Plantagenet, is well worth exploring.

The Virage Sud Le Mans supporters group is the main driving force behind the atmosphere at games.

The call of Sang et Or is particularly prominent in the stadium, with supporters on different sides of the ground using it as a rallying cry.

Stade Marie-Marvingt is a bowl-shaped modern stadium with four main seating areas.

The West Stand is the main stand and a good choice for supporters wanting the best view of the game, while the East Stand also offers excellent side-on views.

For atmosphere, the South Stand is the best choice, with the Virage Sud supporters based there.

Away supporters are housed in a dedicated section accessed through Entrance F.

One of the closest options is V and B Le Mans Antarès on Route de Tours, which is very close to the stadium.

Another nearby option is Aux Portes du Circuit on Rue de Laigne, which is also well placed for supporters.

The city centre has a wider choice of options, with Mulligan’s Pub and The Lodge Irish Pub are among the notable ones.

The are several food and drink options near Stade Marie-Marvingt, although the stadium itself is the easiest choice on matchdays.

Le Manceau is a traditional French restaurant on Avenue Georges Durand and is located close to the stadium. It serves traditional French cuisine and has a bar.

Another option close to the stadium is L’endurance on Avenue du Panorama.

If you want to try a local speciality, look out for rillettes du Mans.

By public transport

Public transport is a good option for getting to Stade Marie-Marvingt and the tram is the easiest choice from central Le Mans.

The stadium is served by the public transport network and is located within the city’s main sporting complex.

Le Mans is exceptionally well connected by rail, with direct TGV services from Paris and other major French cities.

From Le Mans railway station, the easiest option is to take the T1 tram towards Antares and get off at Antares – Stade Marie-Marving, which is directly beside the stadium. The tram journey from the station takes around 20 minutes.

The stadium is approximately 5km from Le Mans railway station, so walking from the station is also possible.

By car

Stade Marie-Marvingt is also straightforward to reach by car, with the A11, A28 and A81 providing connections from Paris, Tours, Angers, Nantes and Rennes.

There are several large car parks around the stadium, including M1, M2, M3 and the Rouge car park.

For away supporters, P19 is the designated visitors parking area on matchdays.

Stade Marie-Marvingt has a number of facilities for disabled supporters.

There are more than 100 reserved parking spaces for people with reduced mobility in car park M1.

The club will welcome and assist disabled supporters at Entrance A, with volunteers available to help around the stadium.

The stadium’s toilet facilities include dedicated accessible cubicles, while all of the food and drink outlets are accessible to disabled supporters.

The club also offers reduced ticket prices to supporters with qualifying disabilities.

Le Mans FC tickets can be purchased online, at the stadium on matchdays and through selected local retailers.

For the 2026/27 season, matchday tickets are available for between €28 and €86

Reduced prices are available to groups including young supporters, students and eligible disabled supporters.

Stade Marie-Marvingt has a capacity of 25,064.

The stadium is one of the largest football grounds in the region and was designed as a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting football, rugby, concerts and other major events.

Guided tours of Stade Marie-Marvingt are available, taking visitors behind the scenes of the stadium.

The tours include areas such as the media facilities, pitchside areas and dressing rooms. Tours are generally limited in size to a maximum of 30 people.

Current prices are €9 for adults and €7 for reduced-price visitors, with free admission for children under six.

Tours are only offered at select times.

Stade Marie-Marvingt was inaugurated on 29 January 2011, replacing the historic Stade Leon-Bollee as Le Mans FC’s home.

The opening match saw Le Mans defeat AC Ajaccio 3-0 in Ligue 2 in front of 24,375 spectators.

The stadium was originally known as the MMArena for sponsorship reasons, but the venue was renamed Stade Marie-Marvingt in July 2022.

The new stadium arrived at a difficult time financially for Le Mans FC, who were relegated shortly before moving into the new ground and subsequently suffered a major financial collapse.

The club’s recovery has made Stade Marie-Marvingt an increasingly important part of its story. Le Mans returned to Ligue 2 in 2025 and then earned promotion to Ligue 1 for the 2026/27 season.

Le Mans FC’s main rival is Stade Lavallois, with matches between the two clubs known as the Derby du Maine.

The rivalry is particularly strong because Le Mans and Laval are neighbouring cities and have historically competed for regional supremacy.

Stade Lavallois have had the edge in recent years, with Le Mans picking up just one win in their last eight meetings across all competitions.

There are also regional rivalries with Angers SCO and Tours FC, although these are less intense than the rivalry with Laval.
